All India Marketing manager, Usha sakes ltd New Delhi 1976-80, Area Manager -Avery India ltd a British owned and managed company at Calcutta.
In 1980,he opted to be an entrepreneur- established a solvent extraction unit to extract fat out of Pupae ( silkworm) and coffee waste ( a by product of instant coffee), set up a ceiling fan unit under tiny sector employing over 60 workmen, the first unit to get ISI marking for a tiny sector unit and other small scale chemical units in Mysore.
During 1995, went into coffee estate management and floriculture, set up the largest commercial Anthurium cut flowers production unit at Madikeri Coorg , resulting in Govt of India , ministry of agriculture nominating him as a Dorector of the National Horticulture Board New Delhifor 3 years from 2002 – 2005 He promoted large scale Anthuriums cultivation units in Coorg and formed Coorg Floriculture Association and became its founder President.
Was advisor to the minister for agriculture, govt of Kerala between 2003 -2006,set up a large Anthurium commercial farm at Nelliampathy for the state govt, Was a member of the expert committee on floriculture set up by Apeda and govt of Kerala.. Actively associated with farmers association as advisor on various issues,organized and conducted farmers study tours to – Delhi, Haryana , Punjab and Himachal Pradesh 2012, Malaysia Singapore in 2013. Tamilnadu and Kerala in 2014, Maharashtra in 2015 and West Bengal and Sikkim in 2016 Formed a Farmers Producer co in 2015 with over 1200 farmers as share holders, has 6 depots selling fertilizer and pesticides, assisted farmers to store paddy in warehouse against 75% advance payment to take them away from middle men etc. During the first 8 months of operation the company made a modest surplus of Rs 28000.
In association with CFTRI the company prompted cultivation of white CHIA through our members and sold the entire produce resulting in very good earnings to those farmers.
