Bio

Jennifer Daubeny was born in British Columbia, Canada and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations (1984) from the University of British Columbia, and a Master of Public Administration (1990) from the University of Victoria.

She joined the Canadian diplomatic service in 1988. From 1990-1993 she covered trade and technical assistance files at the Canadian Embassy in Prague, and in 1995 she opened and headed Canada’s first consulate in Guadalajara, Mexico, where she served for three years. She also served as Senior Trade Commissioner at Canada’s High Commission in London from 2009 to 2013.

Ms. Daubeny has held a variety of officer and deputy director positions at foreign and trade ministry headquarters, including in International Financial and Investment Affairs, Agricultural Trade Policy, Caribbean and Central America Relations, Technical Barriers and Regulations, and U.S. Transboundary Affairs. She also served as director of the Middle East and Africa Commercial Relations Division from 2007 to 2009 and the Investor Services Division, responsible for attracting foreign direct investment to Canada, from 2013 to 2014. From January 2015 until August 2016 she was director of the Science, Technology and Innovation Division at Global Affairs Canada. Ms.Daubeny assumed the position of Canada’s Consul General in Bengaluru, with responsibility for the states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala, in August 2016.
